I did not want to miss out on another week of blogging with TWD. Dorie Greenspan is such an amazing person/chef/instructor/writer and her cookbook (Baking From my home to yours) the TWD group are baking recipes from, cover-to-cover, is a complete blast! My daughter just graduated high school last weekend and now this weekend is her 18th birthday. A huge milestone and one Ashley is trying to avoid. I couldn't wait to grow up and see the world, Ashley wants to stay in her comfort zone and not ever be 18. Believe me when I say I am in "no" rush for her to grow up either but I am also excited to see what life will bring her way. Getting her focused on attaining a driver's license has even been a push. I know everything will be okay but I think I like to worry =). Enough worrying and back to the dessert for the evening:
The Parisian Apple Tartlet was picked by Jessica of My Baking Heart and what a cute little
dessert. Jessica has the perfect pictures to go with the recipe at her blog. The tartlets are Intriguing because of how fast and easy the Parisian dessert is and the options are endless. I rushed to buy puff pastry and did not have enough time to allow the pastry dough to de-thaw and still have time to participate this evening. The dessert came out of the oven a little flat I must say, but very tasty. I added a little cinnamon to the top because I am a cinnamon fiend and the rest is all Dorie's recipe. I am going to try this again when there is time to take a breath or when I have unexpected company and I need a dessert that can look elegant and easy at the same time. What a great Spring treat!
