Nikki + John's Photodate at Waterplace Park, Providence RI

Posted by Mariah:
Nikki and John wanted a Providence backdrop for their photos... I love providence! Waterplace park is practically the backyard of the Snap HQ. I wish more of our clients opted for Providence (hint...hint).

I had never meet N + J. How pretty is Nikki? Stunning eyes, pearly whites, healthy tan... how can you go wrong?

I sat on this very bench with my hubby a week or so before on our anniversary. While he was thinking romantical thoughts about me (I'm sure...) I was thinking, this would be a great spot for an engagement photo.
Voila!

Nikki is full of life! I think she keeps John on his toes, or maybe it's the other way around. Either way, these two know how to laugh together.

I heart the Providence River and also this time of night...

Ooh la la.

What you can't tell from these photos (thank god) is that it was still 100 degrees at 7pm! Nikki, the dewy-ness is working for you!

It was so hot, I might have jumped in, but let's not forget this is the Providence River...

Seriously, Nikki is hot stuff.

John did not need much encouragement for canoodling...

Speaking of hot stuff...

A little dance practice...

Too bad they aren't very animated...

You guys were so great! Hope you love the sweat-free photos. Nice job looking cool in the pics despite the temp. Let's hope for mid 70's in September... 30 degrees cooler would be just right! xoxox Mariah

Newport RI Wedding Photography...Alison + Adam Photodate

Posted by Trish:

Would you believe that about 20 minutes before this photo was taken it was pouring rain and cold? This was our second rescheduling due to rain and it wasn't looking good. I left Providence and it was sunny and fabulous and as I got closer to Newport it started raining like crazy!

I jumpled into their car and we chatted about when and where to reschedule yet again, it still wans't looking good.

Just as I was about to leave the rain stopped and the sun started to come out. All of a sudden it was looking good!

Let's do this thing! So we were on for the photodate and found this totally cool spot under the helm of a very fancy boat for these shots.

Does J Crew have a theme song? If so cue it now because this is their new ad! Please note the fab J Crew skirt...

I'm sorry but could these two be a little cuter? Probably not.

SO I have driven by this gate a million times and I always think that I need to do a photo there, finally I got my wish, wa la!

Turns out that they are super healthy fitness people too, they ran the Newport Marathon! I don't do that kind of thing, it scares me.

I found out some awesome history too. They have known each other since elementary school. Better than that, Alli was the first girl that Adam kissed, when he was ten!!! But they didn't ever date until after college. Now that's some serious cuteness.

In case you couldn't tell they are also a very fun loving couple and have a great time together and are very silly, makes my job easy!

Adam is not afraid of the man posing.

Super sassy.

Another great spot for photos that I never got to before. They were really working it giving me all kinds of poses and expressions. Nice.

This must be what they call a brilliant cut diamond. I'm realizing that it looks totally fake in this photo, but it's all natural!

Of course we had to hit a water view location being in Newport and it not raining and all.

They are REALLY excited to be getting married, not to mention taking these photos!

Romantical.

They were so cute doing this pose, they have seen it on the blog and knew that it would have to be part of the repertoire. It works on them.

Adam has a photo of his grandmother in a pose similar to this. They used to do that back in the day so this was an homage to her.

The good news is that there will be more of Allison and Adam to come, they tie the knot it July so keep and eye out for them!

Stonington, CT Wedding Photography, Ximena and Cem

How I spent my Memorial day, by Mariah:

Another lovely drive for me, but this time it was to Stonington CT to meet Ximena (pronounced Hee-meh-na) and Cem (pronounced Gem) for a fun little photodate.
I have never been to Stonington, and there is one word to describe it: quaint.
Sleepy streets, gingerbread architecture, ocean breezes, sunny porches, and lots of flags waving for the holiday.
I even got a little bonus, Ximena and Cem had brought along the family pooch, meet Robin.

X + C are having their wedding in Watch Hill at the newly refurbished and reopened Ocean House. I cannot wait to go there, it is amazing.
Watch Hill, RI is actually around the corner from Stonington and X + C come here when they want to escape the summer crowds of Watch Hill.

We walked up and down the main street and found so many little nooks, fun colors, and textures to delight my photographic senses!

Ximena informs me her mom is crazy for photos, especially wedding photos.
Uh oh, the pressure is on!

How could I go wrong with these guys as my subjects though?

Cem had found these vines on a side street on a previous trip. he thought it would make a good place to smooch Ximena. I agree!

Romantical.

How sweet is Ximena's little face? Honestly!

Couldn't resist...

Which got me thinking... what does it mean to be in harmony? I think it means having the same values and goals. I think it means having the same vision for your life together. For instance, X + C feel that being around their families is of the utmost importance. They are a close knit bunch. They can't imagine not raising their future children close to the grandparents... that is what is important to them... Ahhh, harmony.

A little chemistry doesn't hurt either.

Oh, and a sense of humor. Cem is forever teasing and cracking jokes. He likes to get Ximena's nephews all riled up. Hurray for the fun uncle!
My husband does this with my kids right before bedtime. I give him the look, because someone has to be the hard ass.
Ximena is giving me a knowing look here, like "oh, your guy is a goofball too."

Such a beauty.

Handsome Cem! Nice man pose!

I love this one, is she going to say something profoundly romantic? It looks like she might...

We headed back to check on Robin who was waiting patiently in the car. I felt she need a little more photo time... she agreed.

No she is mad at me. Such a diva. I can't work like this.

Oooh, pink and sparkly. What better combo is there? None actually- that's why the wedding colors will be fuschia and apricot. Ximena's ring has such a lovely vintage look... I love it.

Thanks for showing me around Stonington guys! Tell Robin I said hi! See you in July!
