Trends for spring that we are loving!

Spring is here!! I've been thinking of some new warm-weather looks for my wardrobe lately, and have noticed a couple of trends that I absolutely love. Enjoy!

The maxi dress has always been a spring staple, but now we're seeing it in sheer. It looks great over a swimsuit and gives off a luxurious yet casual vibe.

You can find this here.

Crochet and lace are making a major comeback as well. This crochet long-sleeved tunic is an awesome beach cover-up.

...and it looks great on a swimsuit, too!
You can find both here and here.

Lastly, I've also noticed the 60's trend in full-force, with accessories like these 'cat eye' sunglasses, and kitten heels. Think you can pull it off?

The Season of Weddings is Upon us!!

It is March and wedding season is right around the corner! The “unofficial” kickoff of is Memorial Day weekend straight through to Labor Day. I work part time as a Wedding Coordinator, and I get to witness first hand the many, many beauties of a wedding.

My life is an even mix of being involved in weddings from the professional point of view of managing the day for the bride & groom and their families, being in weddings as a bridesmaid to my friends and family, and being a guest at weddings. I have to say, I equally love all three perspectives and each are unique and distinctive experiences.

With the approach of wedding season, comes the wedding cocktail dress. When you are not working the event or directly involved with the event, you get to enjoy the event as a guest, wearing a fabulous cocktail dress that you spent countless hours searching to find that perfect one!

This year I kick off my wedding season being a bridesmaid in May, followed with working some weddings in June, but that does not mean that I don’t appreciate the shop for the perfect cocktail dress. Here are some options to fit the trends of this year!

Asymmetrical

Pastels/Nudes

Lace

Bows

Stripes

Fun, Flirty, and Floral

And the infamous LBD options!

Wristcuffs!

Big, bold bracelets are just the thing for spring! Now that the sun has come out, you can expose your sad little wrists to the warming air (hurray!) and spruce them up in style.
No matter your budget or personal style, there's a wristcuff in your future this season...

So which style are you? Audrey, Twiggy, Goldie, Annette, Lindsey, or Grace?
After all, wrists need fashion too!
Author's Note:  I tried desperately to hunt down a ruby red, art-deco wrist cuff with no success. Nothing I found was pin-up, 50s cute enough while still being pretty. If anyone can point me to one, I'd love love love it! Thanks!

Kim's Picks for Spring!

Hello readers! This is my first post for cupcakeMAG and I am honored to be involved with this amazing team! Not sure where everyone else is located, but no matter where you are, I think we are all itching for some spring, right? So what better to discuss here then my current list of  “Must Haves” for spring!

Spring this year is all about the right accessory, bright colors and gold.  I love me some bling, but when I want to switch it up from bling I go bold, and there is nothing better than these bold and beautiful rings by YSL to liven up any spring attire!

It’s a challenge to decide between the turquoise, coral, and pink, I just love them all!

Speaking of turquoise, this color is going to be big this year. This necklace from Stella and Dot is a must have accessory. This was also seen on Jillian Harris from the Bachelor/Bachelorette!

Every new season, means a new fabulous bag right? I love these Celine Cabas Totes. Simply and chic at the same time! And they come in so many styles and colors to go with absolutely everything.

And this Mulberry Tillie Light Peach Haircalf….I am in love!

Last but not least we have shoes! A classic espadrille wedge. I have been seeing them popping up everywhere again this year, which makes me happy because they are one of my favorite parts of the warm weather arriving.  I have loved these classic wedge heels by Stuart Weitzman called the Alex for a while now. These would truly go with just about everything!

And for some very affordable cute new spring sandals the Women's Xhilaration Tallis Espadrille Wedge Sandals - Animal Print from Target! These came in a ton of different colors, but I am in love with the leopard print. They are only $20!
